Family Time Coach Join Community Care ME to support families under DHHS/OCFS through supervised visitation and coaching. The Family Time Coaching Program serves families within Cumberland and York Counties, providing guidance, feedback, and culturally competent care within families’ homes.

Program Overview The Family Time Coach operates within a coaching model, offering supervised visitation, feedback, and support to parents and children. The Coach partners with the family team, attends meetings, completes accurate visitation notes, and progresses each family’s visitation plan. Flexibility in scheduling and travel is essential for program success.

Essential Job Functions

Provides supervised visitation for parents and children in the family’s home or community.

Offers feedback and coaching to promote healthy familial engagement.

Reviews each Family Visitation Plan, referral, and court orders to ensure visits adhere to guidelines.

Attends Family Team Meetings to partner with family members and communicate progress.

Completes visitation notes in accordance with program procedures.

Engages parents in pre/post discussions to enhance parenting skills.

Ensures culturally competent service delivery, tailoring visits to family preferences.

Responds to subpoenaed requests and attends court as required.

Maintains a high level of professionalism in interactions with co‑workers, supervisors, and external providers.

Travels throughout the district to meet program needs.

Essential Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Knowledge of grief, loss, separation, and trauma.

Understanding of normative child development.

Ability to respond calmly and competently to crisis situations.

Understanding of unconditional positive regard and professional boundaries.

Experience with children and families facing behavioral and emotional challenges.

Familiarity with Maine’s child welfare and social service system.

Active engagement in the supervisory process.

Commitment to culturally responsive practices for diverse backgrounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.

At least six months of documented experience working with children and families.

Valid State of Maine driver’s license, 50/100/25 automobile insurance, and a reliable vehicle.

Employment Details Location: Portland, ME (covers Cumberland and York Counties). Salary: $50,000.00 – $58,000.00. Employment type: Full‑time.
