We are continuing to expand and grow! Inova is looking for dedicated Maternal Fetal Medicine Sonographers to join the team. We have PRN, Part-time and Full-time positions available across multiple sites. Full-time positions are eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Communicates effectively with the patient to obtain clinical maternal-fetal history/informed consent, explain procedures, and assist the physician in optimizing examination performance and interpretation. Ensure patient cooperation and address questions; assist physicians in performing CVS, amniocentesis, and image optimization studies using departmental protocols. Demonstrates knowledge of proper sterile techniques and isolation precautions for related procedures. Recognizes clinical and/or emergent problems in maternal-fetal patients and takes appropriate action to resolve them, ensuring optimal outcomes. Demonstrates understanding of IVs, heparin locks, and central line usage as they pertain to sonography. Shows thorough understanding of maternal-fetal ultrasound principles, fetal anatomy, pathology, physiology, and modality integration. Positions patients to optimize image quality while ensuring safety. Uses analytical skills to select images for physician interpretation and to identify fetal anomalies. Records data, images and notes to support preliminary reports. Accurately identifies patients and files, tracks patients per procedures, andCorrects errors promptly when they occur. Minimum Qualifications
Certification:
BLS at start; Successful completion of the Inova NT program within 6 months if not NT-certified; Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Obstetrics & Gynecology at start Licensure:
None required Experience:
Two years hospital or clinic-based experience in specialized maternal-fetal sonography detecting fetal anomalies Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; degree from an accredited sonography training program Preferred Qualifications
