HR Business Partner
We are seeking an HR Business Partner to work in partnership with managers and employees at our Kansas City, Missouri facility. Georgia‑Pacific is one of the nation’s leading corrugated box manufacturers, and the Kansas City team is poised to lead the industry. This position partners with operations to advance continuous improvement of HR processes and drive business results.
Location On‑site at the Kansas City facility.
About the Role As an HR Business Partner, you will build effective working relationships, provide subject‑matter expertise on all HR matters, align HR goals with business objectives, and support supervisors, managers, and leaders in implementing compensation, succession planning, and principle‑based management practices. You will own HR projects and transformation initiatives focused on change management and leadership.
What You Will Do
Build effective working relationships centered on trust through practical and strategic guidance across functions.
Serve as the subject‑matter expert on all HR matters at the site level.
Align HR goals to site business goals, track and monitor progress.
Partner with operations and maintenance leaders to ensure optimal staffing.
Support supervisors and managers in implementing the compensation philosophy.
Provide input and tools for succession planning, key employee retention, and high‑potential development.
Partner with leaders to grow the site’s knowledge and application of Principle‑Based Management.
Handle headcount reporting, timekeeping support, HR systems support, and utilization of HR capabilities.
Engage with hourly staff through time spent in the plant.
Own HR projects and transformation initiatives focused on change management and leadership.
Manage grievance and arbitration processes, and navigate complex labor relations strategies and union relationships.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years in an HRBP, HR Generalist, or HR Manager role.
Experience partnering with plant leadership to drive initiatives.
Experience developing and partnering with front‑line supervisors.
Strong analytical, interpretive, and presentation skills.
Knowledge of employment laws and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Advanced degree in Human Resources, SHRM‑CP or SCP certification.
Experience supporting a union facility.
Experience with project management.
