Founded by a Latina grandmother/community advocate over 50 years ago in Barrio Logan, FHCSD has grown into one of the largest community health systems in the country. Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinic environment Prepare patients for examinations and procedures and assists providers as needed Support nursing staff and providers as directed Assist with managing clinic flow Schedule patient follow‑up appointments, communicate referral information, and discharge instructions Explain medication instructions, and seek additional support for patients if needed Administer medications, including injections, when appropriate Draw blood and administer vaccines Respond to voicemails, route messages, and return phone calls in a timely manner Record patient information in Electronic Health Record (EHR) Clean, process, and sterilize medical instruments Collect and handle laboratory specimens appropriately Follow 5S and continuous quality improvement methods in the workplace Follow all HIPAA guidelines Perform other duties as assigned Requirements
High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent Work Experience Medical Assistant Certification At least 1 year of experience in an ambulatory care setting or a similar setting is highly desirable. Current American Heart Association provider CPR (BLS), or Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support, or Advanced Resuscitation Training required Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Arabic preferred Rewards
Full Time, $26-$29/hr Retirement Plan with 50% Employer Match Paid Time Off, Extended Sick Leave, and Paid Holidays Medical/Dental/Vision/FSA/Life Insurance Employee Discounts and Wellness Programs Annual Raises and Career Growth In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits. $26.00 - $30.34 If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
