Position is Hybrid (in office and remote). Criminal background check required.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, statistics, health informatics, or related health science fields.
Two years of professional experience in epidemiology if substitute education is used.
Overview Under direction, responsible for professional scientific and epidemiological assessments of considerable difficulty. Manages data and conducts epidemiological evaluations and studies in communicable and environmental diseases and general population health. Provides expertise to health department physicians, medical professionals, other departmental personnel, and environmental regulatory personnel.
Responsibilities
Monitor and report disease incidences to local, state and federal agencies.
Conduct basic descriptive epidemiologic analyses and report findings to supervisor.
Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify data.
Collect population-based information from public health partners and stakeholders.
Conduct surveillance activities and identify health events.
Identify data sources for health-related events.
Provide guidance and technical support to stakeholders on technical, systems, or process topics.
Participate in design and evaluation of study protocols, health status questionnaires, sample selections and analyses.
Analyze information, evaluate results, and solve problems.
Develop new applications, ideas, relationships, strategies, systems or products.
Communicate epidemiologic findings of diseases and health events to stakeholders.
