Ambulatory receptionist duties for all staff, patients and visitors for multidisciplinary locations, including general reception, scheduling, patient registration, monitoring patient flow, and general department duties. Review insurance eligibility; confirm active coverage and correct plan in Epic PAM. Monitor and respond to E-Care Next worklist; resolve eligibility discrepancies and update PAM. Schedule patients in Epic Scheduling System and register patients in PAM; perform patient reminder calls and follow-up on missed appointments. Educate and assist patients with UI Health patient portal registration. Obtain authorization for treatment by contacting insurance companies and case managers; provide necessary documentation. Provide financial counseling services, including grant-funded application assistance, fee assessments, and sliding fee scale determinations as appropriate. Inform patients of billing procedures and guidelines; collect co-pays, deductibles, and fee assessments and enter charges in the system. Prepare daily receipt log and cash reconciliation; close out payment systems at end of day. Monitor work, provide input to supervisors, and assist in training as needed. Manage initial call intake for MSHC; route calls and messages to appropriate departments. Respond to complex inquiries about departmental services, policies, and procedures. Participate in orientation of new patients; distribute materials on policies, sliding fee scale, and hours of operation. Receive and route complaints; assist in resolving customer service issues and report feedback to appropriate personnel. Participate in cross-functional quality improvement and compliance efforts; coordinate access to services with related departments. Conduct inventory and order supplies; attend departmental meetings and registration forums; perform related duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications

Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. One year (12 months) of related experience or combinations of experience and education as described; healthcare facility experience involving receptionist duties, patient contact, and medical terminology is preferred. Graduation from an accredited medical secretarial or paramedical program (e.g., nursing assistant, medical assistant, medical secretary) is a plus. Preferred Qualifications
