Admissions and Registration Coordinator (ARC)
Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, 1800 Orleans St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
Schedule: Night Shift (Full Time, 40 hours/week) with weekend work required. Station training will take place during day shift hours regardless of the shift hired for.
Job description: The Admissions and Registration Coordinator (ARC) handles administrative (non-clinical) aspects of the patient encounter, achieving an ideal patient experience while collecting and maintaining accurate insurance information on each patient record. The role is responsible for executing activities including registrations, scheduling, time‑of‑service collections, obtaining authorizations, and providing same‑day admission notification to payers. Friendly, courteous assistance to patients and support to the clinical care team while exhibiting a positive professional demeanor at all times.
Responsibilities
Register admissions and manage patient intake.
Schedule appointments and coordinate with clinical staff.
Collect time‑of‑service payments and manage fee collections.
Obtain insurance and payer authorizations.
Provide same‑day admission notification to payers.
Offer friendly assistance to patients and support the clinical care team.
Requirements
HS Diploma or GED.
ARC III – Two years of relevant experience in a medical office or hospital.
Proficiency with multi‑line telephone and nursing call bell.
Ability to navigate workstations on wheels, copier, calculator, fax machine and EPIC applications including scheduling, registration, billing and order communication.
Successful completion of all required EPIC courses and Patient Insurance training within 90 days for all positions.

Compensation Salary Range: Minimum $20.22/hour – Maximum $33.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. Salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and hiring authority.
