Job Overview
Above It All is seeking an Addictions Counselor for our Substance Use Disorder Program in Baltimore, MD. This individual will plan and conduct therapeutic activities for individuals and groups within the program. They will also counsel clients individually and in groups and must have an advanced understanding of therapeutic programs, client progression through treatment, and the full continuum of care.
Salary: $44,000 - $80,000.
Responsibilities
Perform tasks in therapeutic care, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons with substance use disorder(s) and/or mental health diagnoses.
Facilitate and supervise individual and group counseling.
Partner with social service agencies, managed care organizations, hospitals, clinics, courts, prisons, and other entities in coordinating client care.
Assist clients in their access and utilization of community resources.
Prepare treatment plans, biopsychosocial histories, discharge/aftercare plans, reports, and maintain accurate records.
Recommend and coordinate educational and occupational training opportunities and complete assessments and evaluations based on ASAM criteria.
Ensure collection and documentation of urinalysis/drug screening samples to ensure compliance with treatment requirements.
Encourage, reassure, and provide needed support.
Qualifications
Licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselor by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists.
Approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment.
1 year of addiction counseling experience.
