Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Manager to join our team and oversee a variety of bridge and roadway construction projects in the Hampton Roads area. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma or two years with a bachelor's degree. This role requires strong capabilities in understanding construction plans, specifications, and procedures, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and establish robust working relationships with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Oversee a variety of roadway and bridge construction projects. Direct inspection and material testing efforts. Manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring operations remain within specified corporate or project budget parameters. Prepare and analyze schedules and cost estimates. Assist in negotiating contractor change orders. Supervise onsite teams and manage change orders. Ensure effective document control.
Essential Skills
Minimum of four years of relevant work experience with a high school diploma or two years with a bachelor's degree. Proficiency in civil and construction engineering concepts. Experience in project management and construction methods. Ability to review jobsite safety and understand OSHA safety standards. Valid driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in budget management and document control. Capability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders.
Work Environment
The role involves both in-office and on-site work as needed, with standard work hours from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.
