The Okta Ventures Manager will source, identify, evaluate, and build the case for investments in early-stage enterprise software startups. This role reports to the Head of Okta Ventures and works with a small, committed team with a strong opportunity to learn the venture life cycle. Job Duties and Responsibilities

Generate and manage sourcing and a high volume of investment deal flow Take initial screening meetings and escalate promising opportunities Drive partnerships and awareness of Okta Ventures within the startup and investment ecosystems; attend in-person events in San Francisco to meet founders Assist in deal negotiations and due diligence, including reviewing industries, products, customers, competitors, market sizing, technology walkthroughs, trends, competitive landscapes, and financial modeling Analyze financial and operational information related to potential investments and portfolio companies (e.g., statements, P&L, growth, market share) Facilitate commercial and strategic partnerships for the portfolio (sales, marketing, integrations, business development) Assist in creation of executive materials and deal memos Research technology trends and market landscapes to develop investment theses Engage with internal leaders to evaluate trends Prepare financial reporting documentation Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects to completion Participate in periodic updates to executive management Develop thought leadership content (industry reports, portfolio insights) Organize and participate in industry events with other venture firms Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

3-5+ years of relevant professional experience in enterprise software, including exposure to venture capital Bachelor's degree in business, finance, STEM/engineering, or related fields Passion for technology, startups, learning, and investing Experience with cloud software vendors and their strategies/business models Effective communication skills; ability to convey complex ideas clearly, verbally and in writing; comfortable in business and technical discussions Collaborative with bias to action, low ego, proactive disposition Experience building trusting relationships and influencing others (including senior/executive audiences) Ability to build and cultivate long-lasting relationships Team player who is also an independent thinker Self-starter; able to multitask in fast-paced, ambiguous environments Experience with financial modeling Exposure to product and/or go-to-market functions in a high-growth company Independent project management and presentation skills Strong executive presence Location and Travel

Below is the annual base salary range for candidates located in California. Your actual base salary will depend on factors such as your skills and experience. Okta offers equity (where applicable), bonus, and benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, and paid leave.
