Duties, Responsibilities & Other
10+ years of experience in electrical engineering for MEP building systems.
Develop electrical design drawings, including one‑line diagrams, load calculations, panel schedules, and equipment specifications for switches, panels, transformers, and lighting controls.
Provide guidance and field support during construction, answering questions from architects and contractors.
Communicate professionally with clients and other engineering disciplines.
PE license required.
Project Management and Leadership
Plan, coordinate, and direct large engineering projects.
Supervise subordinate supervisors or team leaders.
Lead research on complex issues and collaborate across departments.
Assist in proposals, negotiations, and presentations.
Provide technical oversight and task performance reports.
Maintain project schedules and budgets within defined parameters.
Training, Development, and Compliance
Mentor and train staff on engineering best practices.
Ensure compliance with KCI policies, ISO standards, and industry regulations.
Conduct performance appraisals and foster professional growth.
Represent KCI in industry associations and community outreach.
Financial Management and Reporting
Manage project budgets and achieve cost targets.
Coordinate receivables and project financial reporting.
Assist in budget planning and utilization tracking.
Project Execution and Technical Oversight
Conduct site visits, gather data, and prepare design calculations and cost estimates.
Review and approve shop drawings and field data against base plans.
Develop preliminary concept designs and interpret technical documents.
Qualifications Education and/or Work Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in planning, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring engineering projects.
Strong organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
Knowledge of construction management, quality assurance, safety protocols, and industry standards.
Proven problem‑solving abilities in fast‑paced environments.
Education and/or Work Experience Preferred
Master’s Degree.
Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations Required
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
