Location : Loudoun County, VA
Responsibilities
Oversee more than 100 significant transportation network improvements of varying sizes and scopes, each at different stages of their lifecycle.
Work with program and project managers who serve as owner's representatives, ensuring accountability among contracted planners, designers, engineers, and construction firms.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with County departments (Building and Development, Finance and Procurement, Planning and Zoning, General Services) and with the Office of Management and Budget in the preparation of the County's 6‑year Capital Budget.
Oversee a portfolio totaling $2.9 billion over 100 projects, including the Intersection Improvement Program, the Sidewalks and Trails Program, and major roadway design and construction.
Manage transportation planning and traffic engineering functions, including the Countywide Transportation Plan, safety and operational studies, and traffic data collection and analysis.
Present technical work to the Loudoun County Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in transportation planning, engineering, public administration, construction management, or related field.
At least five (5) years of directly related experience with increasing responsibility, including three (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
Senior management experience managing a high volume of capital projects focused on transportation or construction.
Preferred: leadership experience within a local government; experience collaborating with elected officials and community stakeholders; strategic planning and implementation experience.
