OVERVIEW Senior Evolved Strategic Systems (ESS) Program Systems Integration Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA. Due to security requirements, work is required to be on‑site in a secure facility. You will join a Systems Engineering team defining the next generation of space communication systems supporting Air Force Military Satellite Communications. You will support Systems Engineering & Integration activities in a multidisciplinary and collaborative environment. The Systems Integration Engineer will interface and collaborate with SE&I team members, contractors, government civilians and members of the USAF. The Systems Integration Engineer will lead and support several working groups responsible for leading technical discussion, resolving and identifying risk, requirement gaps, developing briefings, writing and tracking action items, and authoring meeting minutes.

This position requires that you work on‑site and must live in or near El Segundo, CA.

The MILSATCOM Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (MSEIT) effort provides leading edge Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) for the US Space Force’s Space System Center. Supporting the Space Force’s acquisition of state‑of‑the‑art Military Satellite Communications systems, providing global secure, survivable, and protected communications for our nation’s warfighters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and implement integration strategies and processes to successfully integrate satellite communication systems, segments (Ground, Space, Crypto, Terminals), subsystems, elements, and components; manage the technical baselines among different stakeholders.

Perform analysis of the systems requirements that define the technical baseline and verification of the technical baseline.

Apply Digital Engineering methods and modeling strategies (i.e. Digital twins) to support integration and test activities.

Work with Government and contractor personnel to close gaps of customer requirements among the programs; support major requirements reviews, design reviews, and other associated meetings.

Lead and support Government/Contractor Working Group meetings—by developing briefings, leading discussion, and writing minutes—to address/resolve risks, issues, and action items.

Review proposed changes to the technical baseline for impacts to enterprise capabilities and to cross‑stakeholder integration concerns.

Define and deliver alternatives of solutions to address different integration challenges; manage schedule impact and overall delivery of products.

Facilitate review of program documents by providing comments, compiling other reviewer comments, and working with contractor to adjudicate the comments.

Serve as a subject matter expert to assess technical issues and to prepare briefings to U.S. Space Force program office personnel and other stakeholders; provide courses of action to support Government decisions.

Support management of risks, issues, interdependencies, identifying schedule disconnects and conflicts, developing action plans for resolution, and assisting the Government in executing selected solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

15+ years of demonstrated experience in systems engineering.

10+ years of demonstrated experience leading technical teams.

Strong interpersonal skills, communication (oral and written), and presentation skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Due to security requirements, work is required to be on‑site in a secure facility.

Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top‑Secret clearance.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with MILSATCOM, such as AEHF, EPS, WGS, and FAB‑T terminal programs.

Experience working with military or DoD civilian clients.

Experience with ground and airborne systems, such as terminals and networks.

Demonstrated strong Systems Engineering and Technical Leadership experience.

Knowledge and experience in Agile Development and collaboration tools (Jira/Confluence).

EDUCATION REQUIRED EDUCATION

MS in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.

PREFERRED EDUCATION

PhD in a technical field, such as engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer science.

SALARY Salary at SBG is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract‑specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $140,000.00 to $180,000.00 (annualized USD).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

If traveling, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted (luggage, laptop, etc.).

Reading: 100% per day.

Other: Travel unassisted up to 10% per year, via aircraft or privately owned vehicle.
