INFORMATION SYSTEMS TECH CONSULTANT – TEAM LEAD
Position ID: 71955 – State of Tennessee, Division of TennCare, Nashville, TN
Salary: Minimum Monthly Salary $6,544/month (competitive, based on education & experience, DOHR policy).
Closing Date: 11/04/2025.
Work Environment: Hybrid – a combination of work from home and in office, varying by role.
Job Overview Data Management Team is responsible for all data within the TennCare domain, including policies, security, auditing and database design. This is a team lead position operating in a hybrid environment.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business leads on enterprise data for reporting and operational databases.
Assist in Data Ecosystem efforts: MDM, data quality, data warehouse, ETL development, ensuring business rules are correctly implemented.
Develop and maintain data management standards and a library of database tools to support operations and user acceptance testing.
Ensure proper handling and storage of sensitive data (PII, PHI, FTI) in compliance with State, Federal and TennCare guidelines.
Create/Analyze conceptual, logical, and physical data models within the TennCare enterprise.
Review on-prem and cloud RDMS implementations for best practices and design issues.
Oversee issue research and troubleshooting affecting all database systems.
Collaborate with multi‑vendor partners to solve complex data related issues and interoperability constraints.
Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating required documentation and designs.
Analyze proposed database implementations to ensure effective and secure solutions.
Provide oversight and direction to the Data Management Team on all data‑related activities.
Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and at least five (5) full‑time years of relevant experience.
OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Desirable Qualifications
3+ years of relational database and data warehouse design and support, including MDM solutions.
3‑5 years of experience with DBMS such as Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
3‑5 years of experience with ETL tools.
Excellent communication skills, including ability to convey complex technical topics to upper management.
Experience with Oracle Audit Vault, ServiceNow.
Experience working with cross‑functional groups (Architecture, Development, QA/Testing, Production Support, Systems Administration).
