Black & Veatch has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level Engineer or Consultant interested in developing and performing electrical assessment of facility assets in accordance with asset management best practices. As part of our Infrastructure Advisory Business, this position will be responsible for supporting the inspection and evaluation of electrical assets within diverse facility environments to provide asset management and performance optimization support to a wide variety of utility and engineering projects. The Team
Black & Veatch’s Infrastructure Advisory Business provides a portfolio of solutions focused on the asset lifecycle, including Asset Management & Operations & Maintenance, Infrastructure Technology, Cybersecurity Solutions, Planning and Transactions. In this role you will be part of the Delivery Team supporting Solutions including Condition Assessment, Maintenance Management, and Strategic Asset Management. Key Responsibilities
Responsible for safely planning and managing field-based asset inspection and performance evaluations of water, wastewater, power, and other utility facilities. Design and develop test plans and procedures for electrical components and systems often in collaboration with design and production teams. Interpret and analyze electrical test data to identify issues, confirm performance, and improve overall quality. Verify systems meet all relevant industry and safety standards, such as those from the NEC and OSHA. Document test results, failure analyses, and corrective measures in detailed reports for stakeholders. Work with cross-functional teams, including design engineers and production staff, to provide feedback and resolution of issues. Manage the structuring, storage and utilization of diverse data and asset information. Perform analysis of asset performance and condition, with the ability to clearly communicate observations and produce results in a professional quality report document. Assist with the execution of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) programs for client organizations. Support maintenance plan development. Develop reports, presentations, and Technical Memorandums. Work directly with clients and support project team in meetings and workshops. Support Solution Team as required to prepare proposals and scopes of work. Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (P.E.) License Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 5 - 7 years of electrical design or testing experience – Knowledge of FERC, IEEE, and NEC standards. Knowledge of electrical assessment in areas such as: planning and management of field inspections, selection and deployment of inspection technologies, interpretation of field data, and rehabilitation/replacement recommendations and technologies. Strong theoretical knowledge of electrical principles is essential, along with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience. 4+ years experience in a business/consulting environment.
