Your Role The Principal Engineer, Materials Scientist will lead the design and manufacturing of disposable containers and products used in multiple kidney care modalities. You will provide subject‑matter expertise in materials science and processing, guide design changes, and oversee extrusion, molding, and other manufacturing techniques.

What You Will Be Doing

Develop products and processes incorporating materials science, design, and quality improvement for renal products.

Serve as the technical materials expert for design change programs, including new products, suppliers, and materials.

Produce pilot production runs of materials and sheeting to establish process capability.

Provide hands‑on support and characterization of polymeric materials, blending, and processing.

Investigate and solve complex engineering problems using risk‑based, customer‑focused approaches and engineering tools such as dFMEA, human factors, statistics, and CAD.

Coordinate and communicate research & development efforts with global cross‑functional stakeholders.

Schedule, budget, and lead engineering projects with minimal guidance.

Adhere to design control procedures, safety rules, FDA, ISO 13485, and international regulations.

Supervise engineers and/or technicians (as needed).

Contribute to intellectual property through invention disclosures and patent applications.

What You Will Bring

BS in Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field; MS or PhD preferred.

10+ years of experience in disposable medical product development.

Advanced knowledge of chemistry, materials science, and general engineering principles for new plastic materials.

Expertise in plastic material processing (injection molding, extrusion, ultrasonic welding, UV/solvent bonding, sterilization).

Knowledge of FDA Design Controls, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971 risk management.

Initiative, innovation, and continuous improvement mindset.

Capacity to train and coach others in technical expertise.

Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.

Compensation Estimated annual base salary: $104,000 – $130,000. Additional compensation may include discretionary bonuses and long‑term incentive programs.
