Senior Data Engineer – Jobs via Dice

Responsibilities
Lead, own, and drive data acquisition, ETL processing, and product development for commercial marketing data products to enable critical analytical insights and campaign performance measurement.
Build scalable and performant semantic models using Microsoft Fabric Platform and develop metrics and insights using DAX calculations.
Curate a healthy backlog of capabilities and features for your data products and drive delivery through vendor teams.
Act as the SME and single accountable point of contact for your data domain, ensuring high‑quality data product delivery.
Design, build, and deliver end‑to‑end data architecture, models, and pipelines.
Coordinate with source data owners to obtain access and define data handling and security requirements.
Develop proof‑of‑concept tools to validate connectivity, throughput, correctness, and limitations of data sources.
Work closely with Program Managers, stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to define data strategy that meets their needs.
Collaborate with peer developers, data architects, partner engineering teams, and data operations to implement solutions.
Create data quality and monitoring for key end‑to‑end data flows to ensure reliability and issue visibility.
Contribute to enhancing architecture, design principles, and framework through feedback on domain scenarios.

Qualifications Required / Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years of experience in business analytics, data science, software development, data modeling or data engineering. Or Master’s degree ... AND 3+ years of experience. Or equivalent experience.
4+ years of experience with software development in big data, with 2+ years as a development lead managing big data platforms.
Experience developing and using Azure Data stack (Synapse, ADB, ADF, Cosmos, Azure Data Explorer, Fabric) and data visualization tools.
Experience with data architecture, data modeling, designing, and building data pipelines for operational, advanced analytics, and AI workloads.
Experience setting up and running Agile/Scrum teams with tools such as ADO.
Familiarity with secure development practices and implementing privacy‑compliant data processing, storage, and access solutions.
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree ... AND 8+ years of experience... OR Master’s degree ... AND 6+ years of experience... OR equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience managing execution through vendor teams.
Previous experience in digital media, marketing, Adobe suite of products, web analytics, or any in‑house Microsoft data platforms.
Demonstrated ability to work independently across organization partnering with technical and non‑technical audience, comfortable making tough decisions based on qualitative and quantitative inputs.
Salary Base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 – $229,200 per year. In the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the range is USD $153,600 – $250,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
