Assistant Professor - Tenure-Track - Physics and Engineering
The Department of Physics at Seton Hall University invites applications to fill a tenure‑track assistant professor position beginning the Fall 2026 semester. A Ph.D. in Physics or Applied Physics and a research specialization in Engineering is required. Candidates should have research interests in renewable energy, semiconductor technology, related topics in materials science & engineering, and expertise in optical spectroscopy methods in studying these subjects. The candidate is expected to build an on‑campus research program, successfully seek sponsored research grants, and involve undergraduate and graduate students in scholarly activities. We seek a candidate who demonstrates excellence in teaching lecture and laboratory courses at all levels, especially to students of diverse backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop a new research program and new courses in applied physics and engineering.
Teach 18 credits per year in undergraduate and graduate courses.
Academic advising for Physics students.
Required Qualifications
A Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, and/or a related field of Engineering is required.
Desired Qualifications
Research interests in renewable energy research and/or environmental science and engineering, or expertise in materials science and engineering.
Experience building an on‑campus interdisciplinary research program and securing sponsored research grants.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching lecture and laboratory courses at all levels, especially to students of diverse backgrounds.
