Base pay range $45.80/hr - $55.98/hr

How You’ll Contribute: Provides frontline leadership and advanced technical oversight for all audiovisual and broadcast operations within the Event Production Branch, supporting events throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Manage a skilled team of technicians and operators, ensuring flawless delivery of high‑visibility government events. Supervise AV system setup, readiness, and operation, troubleshooting complex technical issues, maintaining strict quality control, and serve as the primary technical liaison to government stakeholders and media.
What You’ll Do:
Supervise the setup, configuration, and live operation of integrated AV systems, including digital audio consoles, video switchers, recorders, teleprompting rigs, comms, and lighting, ensuring proper signal flow and system readiness.
Design, verify, and manage complex signal flow diagrams and conduct advanced pre‑event line checks, multi‑source signal tests, RF coordination, and broadcast chain validation for live productions.
Lead daily shift operations: assign technical roles, verify equipment and personnel readiness, manage handoffs, and develop detailed crew schedules and rosters to meet dynamic event needs.
Serve as the primary escalation point for real‑time troubleshooting, rapid system reconfiguration, and live audio mixing for broadcast outputs.
Implement and enforce SOPs for staging, strike, equipment storage, cable management, post‑event archival, and quality control standards.
Oversee secure cataloging and storage of captured media, coordinate with government stakeholders and external media crews, and provide real‑time status updates and technical risk assessments to senior contacts.
Support lifecycle upgrades, configuration, and workflow enhancements of AV hardware and control systems; recommend improvements where needed.
Train and mentor junior technicians on advanced AV practices, and maintain comprehensive shift logs, fault reports, and system maintenance records.
Prepare and submit daily schedules, weekly/monthly reports, quarterly reviews, and coordinate rapid response to surge requirements, including weekends, holidays, and urgent events within a two‑hour window.
Work Schedule & Requirements
Monday–Friday, flexible shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM)
On‑call coverage for evenings, weekends, holidays.
Fully on‑site at a secure federal facility in the Washington D.C. area.
What You’ll Bring: Education & Certifications High School Diploma or Equivalent
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must have a minimum of active interim security clearance and ability to obtain/maintain active TS/SCI clearance.
Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience supervising live production crews in technically complex broadcast or government AV environments.
Proficiency with digital audio consoles, video switchers, matrix routers, comms systems, and lighting controllers.
In‑depth understanding of signal types (SDI, HDMI, Dante, analog audio, RF) and troubleshooting tools.
Strong grasp of redundancy design, failover planning, and patch bay management.
Experience working under security protocols for sensitive government communications.
Strong team management, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Experience in federal government or major TV network broadcast operations.
Relevant broadcast industry certifications and knowledge of SMPTE 2110.
Prior involvement with satellite uplink/downlink coordination, IFB routing, and live translation feeds.
Familiarity with non‑linear editing workflows and digital archiving systems.
