Position Summary The Engineer/Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs throughout the property to ensure the hotel remains in excellent working condition for guests and team members. Responsibilities include responding promptly to maintenance requests, completing preventative maintenance tasks, and ensuring all plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties
Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and other building systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and ensure guest satisfaction with all repairs.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and inventory of tools and supplies.
Ensure all maintenance areas and equipment rooms are clean, organized, and in compliance with safety regulations.
Support the Chief Engineer in coordinating outside contractors and vendors.
Participate in on‑call rotations and emergency maintenance response as required.
Follow all hotel safety and security procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in building maintenance or engineering, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs independently.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
