Interior Designer – Education + Institutional
TVS is looking for a talented and experienced
interior designer
to join our
Education + Institutional
team in our
Atlanta
office. Our Education+ Institutional team engages with clients on K-12, higher education, and other community and institutional projects. We're looking to grow our team by adding an experienced interior designer who can take a leading role on the interior development of projects in this team. This role requires being able to work in a self‑directed manner in all facets of the design process including preparation of presentations, working on design and documentation for the schematic design through construction document phases, model building and rendering, and working through the construction administration phase.
Responsibilities
Develop concepts based on given criteria; use feedback to modify designs
Work collaboratively with other team members as to best approach
Increase required technical and functional skills in related technologies, which may include Revit, Bluebeam, Enscape, Rhino, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop and InDesign), and other 3D modeling, rendering, and legacy programs
Develop finish palettes and presentations
Select FF&E and prepare FF&E specifications
Lead small teams on a task‑by‑task basis
Participate in professional development activities and initiatives, both inside and outside the firm
Build and maintain a network of connections and resources within the industry; attend events central to the firm’s strengths and goals
Any other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A degree in Interior Design from a CIDA‑accredited school
Minimum 5+ years of experience in a professional architecture and interior design environment, prefer 8+ years of experience with experience in education and/or institutional design
Proficiency in Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, Enscape, and other 3D modeling and rendering programs
Knowledge of materials, project design, and preparation of construction documentation
Experience across all phases and aspects of a project is desirable
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Able to work in a collaborative, professional manner
Able to problem solve with attention to detail and a desire to learn
Able to work independently with little supervision
Required: NCIDQ certification OR actively pursuing and on track for future certification
