The Opportunity Black & Veatch is seeking an exceptional professional to join our Infrastructure Advisory organization as a

Principal, Asset Management Systems SME – Asset Performance Management . Black & Veatch’s Infrastructure Advisory organization provides strategic and digital transformation consulting services to the power, energy, water, wastewater, local government, oil & gas sectors. We have an immediate need for a professional with business development capabilities and functional/technical industry expertise and experience with Asset Performance Management.

As the

Principal, Asset Management Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Asset Performance Management , you will contribute to identifying Enterprise Asset Management client opportunities and proposing Black & Veatch services. You will function in a lead role in the delivery of Asset Performance Management (APM) projects and manage the client engagement while developing, documenting, and implementing new offerings and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead business development efforts for Black & Veatch’s Asset Management Systems APM offerings for Electric, Gas, Water, Wastewater & Local Government Clients.

Articulate the business case for the implementation of Black & Veatch’s Asset Management Systems APM offerings for Electric, Gas, Water, Wastewater & Local Government Clients.

Use personal network to identify potential clients for Black & Veatch’s Asset Management Systems offerings.

Manage Asset Performance Management projects and engagements.

Define and lead the architectural strategy for Asset Performance Management with applications such as ABB, GE Vernova, IBM Maximo and DNV Cascade.

Design scalable, secure, and high-performance Asset Performance Management solutions aligned with business requirements.

Oversee system integrations with Asset Performance Management solutions and third-party platforms.

Evaluate emerging technologies applicable to Asset Performance Management.

Collaborate with stakeholders to translate functional needs into technical architecture and integration plans.

Manage client expectations within defined scope of engagement.

Assist Black & Veatch in enhancing existing offerings and collaborate with teams to create new offerings.

Develop, present, and defend conclusions, recommendations, and implementation plans.

Recommend appropriate resources based on the phases of an engagement.

Delegate and manage work to assigned team members and transfer capabilities to improve others’ knowledge and skill levels.

Enhance working relationships with team members and client stakeholders; contribute to engagement quality reviews.

Establish best practices for configuration, customization, and data governance.

Guide development teams in implementing architectural standards and frameworks.

Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and performance standards.

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of experience with Asset Performance Management

5+ years of experience with one or more APM solutions such as ABB, GE Vernova, IBM Maximo and DNV Cascade

Strong understanding of asset management systems and cloud infrastructure

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Industry knowledge in Generation, Transmission, Distribution across electric, gas and water utilities

Knowledge of the principles of Asset Management

Experience providing advisory services in Asset Management and Asset Performance Management

Ability to communicate across organizational boundaries and levels

Experience with the architecture and functional capabilities of Asset Management solutions

Background in utilities or public sector implementations

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience

Has managed significant engagements

10+ years in a business/consulting environment

Work Environment / Physical Demands

Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, performance, and work assignments.
