Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Controls Engineer
to join our growing engineering team in Wilmington, MA. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who enjoys designing, programming, and implementing control systems for complex industrial processes and machinery. The position involves working on a variety of exciting projects across multiple industries, ensuring top-quality control system performance, reliability, and efficiency. You will be responsible for developing system architecture, programming PLC, DCS, and HMI/SCADA systems, creating detailed documentation, and providing commissioning support at client facilities. This position offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and guide junior engineers. Key Responsibilities
Design and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery Develop system architecture and select control components Create detailed electrical schematics and technical documentation Program PLC, DCS, and RTU controllers using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and other programming languages Develop and configure HMI and SCADA systems for process visualization Work with industrial databases to archive and display system data Support system checkout, startup, and commissioning at client sites Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal project teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians Manage small-scale projects and coordinate engineering activities as needed Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science required Minimum of 5 years of experience in control system design, programming, and implementation Strong knowledge of
PLC platforms
such as Rockwell Automation Experience with
HMI and SCADA platforms
such as Rockwell Automation or Inductive Automation Ignition Experience with
DCS platforms , especially Emerson DeltaV Working knowledge of field instrumentation and process control systems Familiarity with electrical schematics, control panels, and NEC standards Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet IP, Profibus, Modbus, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus Programming experience in VBA, .NET, or SQL for HMI or SCADA applications preferred Understanding of S88 Batch, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 regulations is a plus Experience with GAMP5 methodologies and system validation preferred Ability to travel up to 25 percent Preferred Attributes

Competitive salary range:
