Overview
The Account Executive, Portfolio Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key decision makers that lead to future business opportunities. The position will be focused on Acute Hospitals and IDNs. The territory will cover the following states: CA, NV, AZ, NM, TX, CO, UT, WY, MT, AK, HI, WA, OR. The ideal candidate will live in Seattle, Portland, Salt Lake City, Houston, Denver, Phoenix, Northern California or Southern California.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 per year base, plus eligibility for the Sales IV Therapy compensation plan with an annual target of $75,000. The position is eligible for a company vehicle. Final pay determinations will depend on factors including experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Responsibilities
Responsible for achieving territory sales quota for the Fresenius Kabi Infusion Delivery product line with a focus on Portfolio Contracting, IV solutions, Drug Delivery, and both dedicated and nondedicated IV sets.
Maintain a high level of technical and commercial competence on relevant products, technologies, and services; demonstrate expertise and establish credibility with clinical and executive decision makers.
Utilize a consultative process and value-based selling to address specific customer needs.
Demonstrate clinical understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of competing products and strategically position Fresenius Kabi offerings.
Lead effective business discussions with economic buyers and high-level contacts; demonstrate the financial/clinical ROI of a solution.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the assigned territory, customer base, contracts, and competitive products.
Develop a comprehensive territory-specific business plan with strategies and tactics to achieve quarterly sales goals.
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
Plan, prospect, prioritize, monitor, and forecast sales opportunities on a systematic basis.
Participate in product implementation of Infusion Therapy products as requested.
Support the implementation/management of new accounts and travel outside of the assigned territory when needed to support corporate objectives.
Develop strategic customer relationships to drive purchase of Fresenius Kabi products and maintain high customer satisfaction.
Communicate with managers and align sales efforts with company and regional targets.
Demonstrate a total account management perspective with each customer, leverage resources, and articulate the value proposition clearly.
Understand and communicate market dynamics and healthcare trends.
Complete all training requirements, including department-specific and compliance training.
Participate in reasonable work activities as assigned by management.
Adhere to the Health, Safety, Environment, Energy, and Quality Management Systems as per role responsibilities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or advanced degree preferred.
8+ years of related experience in the healthcare industry; medical sales experience highly preferred.
Strong business acumen with excellent negotiation, communication, business planning and sales strategy development.
Proven success in a consultative selling role (questioning, listening, handling objections, closing for next steps).
Solid influencing skills with outstanding selling and presentation abilities.
Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Experience with ERPs (SAP preferred), CRMs (Salesforce.com preferred) and knowledge of database concepts.
Ability to travel frequently by car or air; valid driver’s license required. Travel >50% expected; may vary by territory.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic environment.
Flexible hours and weekends as needed to meet business/customer needs.
Ability to work effectively with all employees and external contacts with a service-oriented attitude.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound business judgment.
