Job Description EBAD is seeking a
Product Engineer
experienced in manufacturing environments. The Product Engineer evaluates designs for manufacturability and leads new product development into production, focusing on user requirements, mechanical design, tool design, and manufacturing cell layout.
Responsibilities
Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation, including instructions, routings, process specifications, and tooling, as well as product testing requirements and methods.
Act as the technical liaison between the customer and EBAD during transitions from proposals to production.
Identify and solve manufacturing problems, investigate process failures, and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure production viability of new designs, including required documentation and approvals.
Interface with production personnel, such as operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
Implement Lean methodologies: standard work, point‑of‑use tooling, material presentation, and process improvements.
Develop automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
Create manufacturing cell layouts, including tooling, machinery, and equipment.
Prepare Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Perform technical compliance and risk assessments.
Contribute to standard work and manufacturing cell planning.
Track status and ensure completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs.
Requirements
BS or MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical or manufacturing engineering, with experience in multi‑part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems.
Proficiency in CAD, 3‑D modeling, assembly creation, drawings, and GD&T.
Experience designing tooling and fixtures.
Understanding of Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a track record of leading programs/projects.
Formal problem‑analysis and resolution skills.
Project management skills, including documentation, planning, and execution.
Experience with aerospace products and processes.
Familiarity with Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices.
Experience with Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to use MS Project.
Compensation Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market data.
