Modeling and Simulation Systems Architect
Job Number:
R0227763
Join to apply for the Modeling and Simulation Systems Architect role at Booz Allen Hamilton.
The Opportunity For an organization to transform in today’s digital world, it needs to properly collect, store, and organize its data. Effective data management enables smarter, faster decisions that strengthen national security. As a data architect, you apply creative thinking and a strong analytical mindset to help organizations manage their data assets. We’re looking for an experienced data architect to deliver leading‑edge solutions for space operations and national defense missions.
As a data architect supporting modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) efforts within the defense and space enterprise, you use your technical expertise to design and implement data architecture solutions that support joint force training, operational integration, and cross‑combatant command exercises. You resolve complex data architecture challenges by collaborating with analysts, software engineers, and mission planners—defining data standards, advising on interoperability approaches, and developing schema and interface control documentation (ICDs) to enable realistic modeling and simulation environments.
In this role you expand your technical depth and apply best practices using tools like SQL, Python, C#, System Tool Kit (STK), and DoD data integration frameworks to design databases, data models, and ETL processes that power advanced analytical and simulation capabilities. You lead efforts to define, develop, and test data flow between modeling environments and operational systems, serving as a liaison between defense stakeholders and technical teams to ensure requirements are clearly captured and accurately implemented.
With your drive to establish standards and enable technological innovation, you make a lasting impact on space operations readiness and national security decision‑making.
You Have
Experience gathering, refining, and documenting technical requirements for software, systems, or modeling & simulation (M&S) projects
Experience planning, tracking progress, and aligning resources and funding to project goals
Ability to lead discussions with internal teams, external contractors, and partner organizations to align requirements, expectations, and deliverables
Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, actionable language for decision‑makers
TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Data Science
Nice If You Have
Experience interpreting military mission threads and extracting key attributes and behaviors to be modeled
Experience with DoD or enterprise network architectures, data exchange patterns, or cybersecurity considerations related to system integration
Experience with system development lifecycles (SDLC) or M&S environments sufficient to bridge technical and non‑technical conversations
Knowledge of military or defense M&S systems and integration with operational systems or exercise environments
Knowledge of software development, software architectures, APIs, or database concepts
Knowledge of space operations concepts such as orbital mechanics, satellite communications, space situational awareness, and space command and control, including how they inform M&S requirements
Clearance Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.
Compensation Salary for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD), depending on location, experience, and other factors. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
Identity Statement As part of the application process, you are expected to be on camera during interviews and assessments. We reserve the right to take your picture to verify your identity and prevent fraud.

If this position is listed as remote or hybrid, you’ll periodically work from a Booz Allen or client site facility.
If this position is listed as onsite, you’ll work with colleagues and clients in person, as needed for the specific role.
