Summary This position will provide day‑to‑day plant systems support to plant and distribution center inventory control, warehouse management, product labeling, MES system support, and other manufacturing systems components that relate to processing plant operations, control and supply chain management systems. The role supports call documentation, problem resolution, and specialized user support, maintains proper call trails, and performs software/hardware testing and change control to minimize adverse impacts on overall supply chain infrastructure. It also assists the Applications, Infrastructure, and Telecommunications Support teams in change and version management and problem resolution while enforcing Corporate Manufacturing Systems policy, procedures and best practices.
Principal And Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support all information and manufacturing system operations activities (multi‑shift), including computer and network operations, troubleshooting, data control/security, documentation, software version control, change control, security, backup/recovery, and system performance.
Analyze data and develop SSRS/Power BI reports; convert reports from paper/Crystal format to SSRS/Power BI to improve performance and readability.
Support all supply chain applications, process control, scaling/labeling, desktop computing, and network.
Identify, prioritize, and resolve reported computer system problems; monitor and respond to technical hardware and software issues.
Code, test, configure, and document programs and systems from detailed specifications using SDM and structured programming practices.
Work as a team member in the development, enhancement, and support of applications that meet or exceed customer requirements.
Minimum Education Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Technology, Business Management or related work experience.
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in IT Support or a similar role.
Experience or education in microprocessor‑based equipment, Microsoft product knowledge on Server and Desktop Operating Systems, Voice/Data, Network Administration (Microsoft), Database Administration and Unix or Linux operating systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – including strong phone skills – are essential for interacting with users and providing professional assistance.
Effectively troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Work hours may be adjusted to accommodate support requirements; on‑call time required for non‑scheduled work hours.
Experience Preferred
BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronic Technology, Engineering or Business Management or related discipline.
Additional experience in manufacturing systems such as ComputerWay Food Systems, OSSID, Marel or Kronos Time and Attendance.
Project management experience and/or education.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Work hours may be adjusted; on‑call time required.
Positions are mostly sedentary but may require occasional movement between offices or support deployment to a site. Plant positions require moving throughout the plant, feedmills, hatcheries and other facilities.
May need to move light equipment or supplies.
Work activity is in an office environment.
When in a plant environment:
Wet and moist floors with metal and plastic grating surfaces.
Exposure to temperatures 28–100°F with 100% humidity.
Product handling 25–50°F.
Noise range 50–110 dB.
Exposure to chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plants.
Must wear and use required protective and safety equipment.
