Senior EIT 2 – GAI Consultants, Inc.
Location: Louisville, KY • Salary: $90,000.00–$135,000.00
We are seeking a Senior EIT to work with the Power Generation Business Sector on renewable energy projects and other regional projects.
The successful candidate will work remotely or in a hybrid setting, collaborate in a team‑oriented environment, and perform design and monitoring tasks under the supervision of a licensed professional engineer.
Job Duties
Site grading plans
Erosion and sediment control plans
Stormwater management plans
Hydrologic and hydraulic / drainage plans
Utility design and relocation plans
Maintenance and protection of traffic plans
Geotechnical investigations
Permit applications (earth disturbance permits, building permits, land development plans, high occupancy permits, etc.)
Access road section development
Construction drawings, specifications, and quality control plans
Construction cost estimates
Owner's engineer support during construction
Field investigations
Daily/weekly construction inspections
Earthwork construction quality control
Compaction testing
Concrete testing
ESC inspections
SWPPP inspections
Environmental monitoring
Travel to project sites primarily in the Midwest and Mid‑Atlantic regions of the United States as needed
General Characteristics
Develops broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area
Evaluates, selects, and applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks for conventional projects with few complex features
Collaboratively uses judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non‑routine aspects of assignments
Applies principles of probability and statistics to determine risk relevant to engineering
Minimum Years of Experience 6+ years
Education B.S. or M.S. in Engineering
Certification / Licensure Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and obtained engineer‑in‑training (EIT) or engineering‑intern (EI) certification
Technical Responsibilities
Performs moderate design tasks
Prepares portions of plans, specifications, and other project documents
Performs research and field investigation
Project and Task Management
Works as part of a team and coordinates work with others
Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements
Management Responsibility
Receives instruction on specific objectives
Receives direction on unconventional and/or complex problems and possible solutions
Receives a thorough review of completed work for the application of sound professional judgment
Receives mentorship from a licensed engineer typically in their specialty
Communication Skills
Possess effective oral and written communication skills
Interacts with other staff
Interacts with clients with close oversight
Interacts closely with project managers and various departmental staff, especially with client communications
Interacts with clients at regular project meetings
