WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT:

Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by maintaining disciplines of financial controls and checks across all departments.

Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting.

Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting to Parent Company (MML).

Manage completion of year end audit performed by an independent accounting firm.

Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records for Director of Finance, President and Parent Company (MML).

Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals.

Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc.

Assist in management of commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms

Assure that assets are not awkwardly overloaded with personal guarantees or unrealistic commitments

Work closely with Director in the development and economic evaluation of various project components.

Prepare government reports.

Prepare miscellaneous journal entries and perform account reconciliations as needed.

In collaboration with General Managers and other key staff, prepare and analyze yearly budgets and monthly forecasts.

Prepare and manage supporting documents for federal, state, and foreign tax filings.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration from four‑year College or university, Master’s degree is preferred.

10+ years of accounting experience.

5+ years’ experience as a Controller in a manufacturing environment.

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus.
