Manufacturing Engineer – Electronics / Defense Contract Manufacturing
Sky Limit Systems is representing a leading electronics manufacturer supporting the defense industry, looking for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. This exciting opportunity is for a hands‑on engineer who thrives in a fast‑paced, precision‑focused environment where quality and process improvement are key.
Base pay range $100,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
Position Overview The
Manufacturing Engineer
will play a central role in optimizing production processes, supporting new product introduction (NPI), and improving manufacturing efficiency for electronic assemblies and subsystems. This position works closely with design engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure all manufacturing operations meet customer, regulatory, and defense standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes for electronic assemblies and components.
Provide engineering support to production teams to ensure consistent product quality and throughput.
Lead process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve yields.
Collaborate with design and quality teams to support design for manufacturability (DFM) and ensure compliance with defense and customer requirements.
Create and maintain work instructions, assembly documentation, and process flow diagrams.
Support tooling design, equipment selection, and layout planning for manufacturing operations.
Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions.
Participate in new product introduction (NPI) efforts to ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in
Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering , or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of manufacturing engineering experience
in electronics or defense‑related production environments.
Strong knowledge of
electronic assembly processes
including SMT, through‑hole, and mechanical integration.
Experience in
contract manufacturing (CM)
or build‑to‑print environments preferred.
Familiarity with
Lean manufacturing, process documentation, and continuous improvement methods .
Working knowledge of
ERP/MRP systems
and strong computer proficiency (Excel, Word, and CAD tools preferred).
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and team collaboration skills.
U.S. Citizenship required due to defense‑related contracts.
