Youth Development Professional 1
Location:
Santa Monica, CA (Several Openings at a few different elementary schools)
Status:
18-22 Hours a week, Non-Exempt
Approximate Hours:
School Year: (Primarily After School; 2:00pm-6:30pm M-F)
Base Pay:
$22.00 / Hour
Job Description Our Client's Club staff members are educators, coaches, mentors, community leaders, and ambassadors. They don’t just open the doors of our clients Clubs – they open the door to new worlds and possibilities for kids and communities.

The Youth Development Professional 1 provides development and implementation of fun and engaging programming. The Youth Development Professional 1 contributes to positive youth development, empowerment, and drives youth outcomes across the spectrums of academic achievement, good character & citizenship, and health and wellness.
Responsibilities
Promotes and stimulates program participation.
Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
Focus on maintaining a safe, positive atmosphere for all youth.
Exhibits a warm, professional attitude toward youth that uses a positive approach in dealing with individuals as well as groups of children.
Effectively plan and lead programs, services and a variety of activities for members.
Effectively communicate with staff and with children of all ages being an active positive team member.
Completes program planners in a timely manner including new, fun and inviting program ideas for the designated area(s).
Requirements
Desire and ability to work with children.
Ability to accept supervision and guidance.
Good character, integrity and adaptability.
Enthusiasm, good judgment, patience and self-control.
Must participate in required trainings by the Club, County, State, and/or funders.
Must be able to pass a drug test that includes screening for marijuana, criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
Good verbal and communication skills.
Be adaptable and be flexible to changes.
The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.
Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.
Be able to maintain high level of energy.
Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
You are a Spanish speaker.
You have more than one year of experience working with youth.
You have a teaching certificate or background in education.
