Field Service Technician at Smith Pump Company, Inc.
Responsibilities
Field service—pump troubleshooting, diagnostics, teardown, inspection, and repair of pumps in the shop and on job sites.
Operate and maintain mobile pump service rigs to ensure startup and ongoing operation of water and wastewater pumps.
Read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions; maintain accurate reporting.
Readiness to travel; coordinate with customers and field team to resolve issues efficiently.
Position Requirements
Required: Experience as a service technician and/or mechanic.
Understanding of water pumps, or electrical or mechanical equipment.
Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain positive relationships with both employees and customers.
Ability to drive a commercial vehicle daily to job sites.
Preferred
Five (5) years of experience in pump field service and/or pump service rig work.
Certified Pump Installer by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Duties and Physical Demands
Physical work requiring standing for extended periods, and the ability to handle weights and forces of 100 lbs or more.
