We are seeking an Audio Lab Engineer or Technician to support a New Technology Investigation project. In this role, you will evaluate and validate emerging audio technologies through measurement, testing, and analysis. You will work hands‑on in the lab using Soundcheck and other audio test systems to execute experiments, analyze data, and communicate results to internal stakeholders and external technology vendors. This position will play a key role in early‑stage technology evaluation, supporting innovation and advancing the next generation of audio products.
Responsibilities
Plan and conduct a series of audio tests and experiments to evaluate new technologies.
Operate and maintain audio test systems and related measurement tools.
Troubleshoot and debug audio circuits and systems using digital oscilloscopes and other diagnostic instruments.
Collect, analyze, and document measurement data to support development decisions.
Summarize and present findings clearly to engineering teams and external technology partners.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including hardware, software, and systems engineering.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient lab environment, identifying and implementing improvements as needed.
Work with and manage vendor relationships.
Essential Skills
Experience with oscilloscopes, test planning, troubleshooting, data analysis, and prototyping.
Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and Soundcheck.
Hands‑on experience with MEMS microphones.
Understanding of audio electronics and signal paths.
Experience with digital oscilloscopes, audio analyzers, multimeters, and signal generators.
Strong communication and documentation skills with both internal teams and external vendors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Audio Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
Experience in automation, scripting, signal processing, acoustics, laboratory work, and R&D engineering.
Knowledge of spatial audio technologies.
Work Environment Onsite office environment in Redmond, WA, with flexible hours.
