Key Responsibilities

Function as a Technical Specialist or Project Lead, coordinating and guiding substation projects up to 765 kV in engineering design, procurement, and construction.

Develop protection and control design deliverables—protective relays, panel arrangements, one‑line/three‑line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, and relay panel wiring.

Create physical design deliverables—yard layout plans, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, and auxiliary AC/DC power systems.

Perform or oversee quality review of electrical substation design packages.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.

Prepare electrical equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM) for procurement and construction.

Communicate and coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Present proposals, designs, and project activities.

Travel to client and vendor offices and/or project sites for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification as needed.

Prepare and manage design budgets and schedules.

Support business development or pursuit activities.

The Team Our specialized team focuses on substation, renewables integration, HVDC/FACTS/STATCOM, datacenter integration, and BESS integration, delivering complete engineering, procurement, and construction services to advanced manufacturing, data centers, and distributed infrastructure clients.

Preferred Qualifications

High voltage substation design experience—physical and/or protection & controls.

Project lead and technical specialist experience overseeing utility substation projects.

QA/QC review expertise.

Experience coordinating with clients, multidisciplinary leads, and project managers.

Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited program.

Minimum of 5 years related work experience.

Work Environment / Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion.
