$103,230-$139,008 . We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer II to provide electrical engineering and controls services within the manufacturing engineering department. The role supports production equipment, operations, and process and focuses on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Key responsibilities include: Design, install, and maintain electrical hardware and production equipment systems. Standardize electric controls for process and factory equipment. Develop and maintain equipment standards for procurement, manufacture, and maintenance. Plan, acquire, and implement production equipment concepts, reviewing engineering drawings and specifications. Optimize existing automation systems and production equipment to improve safety, machine availability, and efficiency. Analyze existing machines, define improvement measures, and coordinate implementation. Provide expert advice to electronic and maintenance technicians in problem situations. Maintain and archive technical documentation using appropriate software and ensure updated documents and programs are available. Plan and execute modifications with fabrication and assembly equipment in coordination with concerned departments and contractors. Assist planning departments in improving maintainability of new machines. Travel to equipment suppliers during pre-acceptance runoffs and participate in handover activities. Understand product requirements and align electrical design to meet them. Implement control changes where needed. Act as participant, facilitator, or leader of cross-functional teams. Lead automation and connectivity of shop floor data (IIoT) acquisition as project manager. Build interfaces of machine and production areas into MES and enterprise system infrastructure. Layout and configure HMI panels with integrators to ensure user-friendly equipment interface. Perform work under minimal supervision; handle complex issues and refer to higher-level staff when necessary. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience as a Testing Systems Engineer, Automation Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, Automation Controls Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar discrete manufacturing role. Proficiency with electrical and controls systems, circuits, components, and software (Siemens TIA Portal, SEW configuration, MOVITOOL, IFM, or PNOZ). Industrial robotic programming experience. PLC programming skills (Siemens or Allen Bradley). Application programming skills (C++ or Visual Basic). Computer-aided design software experience (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN). Proper use of digital multimeters, machine vision systems (Keyence or Cognex), or high potential testers. This position is not open to telecommuting.
