Construction Project Safety Manager, NA GES Safety

Global Engineering Services (GES) is looking for a talented Construction Project Safety Manager to support a growing contractor safety program.
This role will develop, maintain, and oversee the global construction safety contractor management program.
The manager will be part of the GES Construction, Operations Engineering, and Startup teams with a direct relationship to the Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) team and will work closely with construction, procurement, legal, execution leaders and counterpart stakeholders worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the tactical point of contact for the GES Contractor Safety program.
Ensure consistent and accurate execution of the Amazon Contractor Pre‑qualification Process.
Develop and communicate clear contractor safety roles and responsibilities to support construction site managers and stakeholders.
Support the Real‑estate legal and Category Procurement teams in maintaining current safety requirements in contracts.
Support daily execution of the safety audit program and engage 3rd‑party companies to complete construction safety audits and meet documentation requirements.
Develop and distribute WHS audit scorecards.
Support construction project managers in following up on serious incidents and near misses.
Conduct ad‑hoc site visits to perform observations, support construction managers, or participate in other site‑based activities.
Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly key performance indicator reports and records.
Support Project Manager training and processes related to contract oversight from a safety perspective.
Engage with WHS and Launch managers to provide field support as needed.
Be a key stakeholder in developing the WHS Construction Safety Management and Contract Risk Management (CRM) standards.
Stay attuned to changing regulations and industry trends that may influence Amazon Business units using up‑to‑date safety technologies.
Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly business updates for diverse leadership teams.
Support project managers in establishing and maintaining effective WHS work relationships with developers, general contractors and subcontractors.
Travel nationally up to 50% of the time.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of team management experience.
3+ years of program or project management experience.
3+ years of experience working cross‑functionally with tech and non‑tech teams.
Experience delivering cross‑functional projects.
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
Bachelor’s degree.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.
Experience in data mining, data management, reporting, and SQL queries.

Compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $74,800/year in the lowest geographic market up to $163,100/year in the highest. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
