We are seeking a
Mold/Asbestos Analyst
to work in our Las Vegas, NV laboratory. The analyst will perform bulk and non‑culturable surface/air sample analysis for asbestos and fungi, support quality assurance processes, and assist in laboratory accreditations.
Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze aerobiological and environmental samples for asbestos and fungi.
Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS.
Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work.
Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed.
Maintain client service and provide technical support as required.
Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing and collecting data for QA processes.
Confirm laboratory results as needed by client services personnel.
Complete all analytical testing and quality assurance related tasks.
Assist in pursuing, receiving and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations.
Maintain and update all required training and QA documents onsite.
Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due time for timely delivery.
Assist co‑workers on analytical questions as necessary.
Participate in lean initiatives as needed.
Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same.
Other duties as assigned.
Basic Minimum Qualifications
1+ year of experience performing asbestos PLM (Polarized Light Microscopes) and/or mold analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in biology, geology, or a closely related science. REQUIRED.
Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing and speaking.
Ideal Candidate
8 units of Microbiology courses preferred.
General regulatory requirements knowledge.
Knowledge of computers, spreadsheets, and databases.
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills.
Compensation & Benefits Compensation range: $21 – $26 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
$5,000 sign‑on bonus available for qualified candidates with one year or more of experience performing asbestos PLM and/or mold analysis.
Position is full‑time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. shift with overtime and weekends as needed.
