Job Summary And Responsibilities This role involves assisting in the performance of direct patient care services, including inpatient consults, consents and rounding.
Perform history and physical examinations of radiology patients.
Order laboratory and radiographic studies.
Assist with radiology procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, image guided IV access, as well as fluoroscopy examinations.
Develop and implement patient management plans and record progress notes.
Assist with patient education, follow up and discharge notes.
Assist with training of new APP hires.
Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement for patient care.
Work within a multidisciplinary team.
Additional duties as assigned by clinical or operational leadership.
Requirements PA Requirements
Degree as a Physician Assistant.
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Background in pre‑med preferred.
Minimum 3 years prior experience.
Prior experience as a Diagnostic Radiology or Interventional Radiology PA strongly preferred.
Ability to perform procedures requiring fine motor skills to include repetitive handwork.
Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision.
Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant.
Valid DEA registration.
Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff.
NP Requirements
Master's Degree in nursing; graduate of accredited program for nurse practitioners.
Compact state or Arizona RN license.
Arizona Advanced Practice Nurse license.
Surgical First Assist certification.
Minimum 3 years prior experience.
Prior experience as a Diagnostic Radiology or Interventional Radiology NP strongly preferred.
Ability to perform procedures requiring fine motor skills to include repetitive handwork.
Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision.
Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP‑AACN, b.) NP‑AANP, c.) NP‑ANCC.
ACNP certification preferred.
Valid DEA registration.
Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff.
