Nursing Instructor: Pharmacology

Position Summary Faculty members are responsible for the delivery of quality education services. This entails engaging students, fostering learning, role modeling professionalism, and ultimately producing competently trained students prepared for professional careers. This includes working with the Associate Director of Nursing over the assigned cohort, the Director of Nursing, and other campus faculty and staff to ensure consistent and high‑quality delivery of assigned courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Full‑time faculty must become ATI Champions within 90 days of hire date.
Prepare course plans and materials.
Deliver course lectures, facilitate labs, and/or clinical rotations.
Monitor equipment and supply needs.
Maintain classroom.
Seek an approved substitute in case of absenteeism.
Enforce HCI policies (attendance, dress code, clinical policies, etc.).
Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies (full‑time faculty required and part‑time requested).
Work on retention plans and program development.
Attend staff and faculty meetings (full‑time faculty required and part‑time requested).
Participate in committees and knowledge sharing forums (full‑time faculty required and part‑time requested).
Facilitate student engagement.
Direct and assess student progress in theory (cognitive) and performance (psychomotor & affective) requirements of the program.
Monitor student progress and follow up as needed.
Provide weekly feedback reports to the ADON, DON, SVPAA, and Group Campus President/COO.
Maintain all relevant licensures, certifications, and paperwork in the personnel file.
Maintain a minimum of eight (8) CEU hours annually through professional development, in‑services, presentations, publications, etc.
Encourage students to submit course evaluations and use feedback to improve delivery.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Participate in ACEN and other accreditation activities.
Comply with all governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements – Skills and Qualifications
Faculty must have the degree required for the specific discipline and appropriate credentials per Florida Board of Nursing, ACEN, ACCSC, and other governing bodies; at least 50% of faculty should hold a master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills.
Excellent teaching skill and ability to efficiently manage students’ clinical and skills lab activities.
Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to manage people and projects.
Knowledge of course content.
Effective in directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance.
Prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques.
A willingness to follow high ethical standards.
Education and Experience
Minimum of a BSN from an accredited nursing program (required).
Preferred: MSN or equivalent.
Current, active RN and/or APRN license issued by the Florida Department of Health (required).
Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (required).
Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (per ACCSC).
Workload Expectations
Workload depends on faculty classification.
Faculty will start and end on time for assigned courses, clinicals, and lab hours.
Faculty must obtain prior approval from the ADON/DON if overtime is required.
Teaching must be in face‑to‑face contact with students in didactic, clinical, or lab settings.
Full‑time faculty are required to teach a minimum of 30 hours per week, attend meetings, participate in accreditation, serve on committees, and perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands The physical demands are those required in a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment, along with activities of a professional nurse. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Working Environment Professional office setting: moderate noise levels; controlled indoor climate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Location This position is onsite. Campus locations include: West Palm Beach (Main Campus) and Fort Lauderdale (branch of West Palm Beach).
Salary $45–$50 per hour.
