Surgical Technician Position Summary Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Reports to the Director of OB.

Essential Functions Patient populations served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

Protected health information accessed: Demographic, clinical, insurance, financial, complete medical record.

Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present.

Physical requirements: Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

High school diploma or equivalent preferred; graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.

Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.

License/Certifications: None required; BCLS preferred.
