We are looking for a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy teams in delivering operational and service excellence.

Job Purpose and Summary At CVS Health, we help people navigate the health care system by improving access, lowering costs and being a trusted partner for every meaningful moment of health. In our retail locations, Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting Pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.

Responsibilities

Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.

Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.

Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, providing personalized moments, offering immunizations and other services, and solving or escalating patient problems.

Complete basic inventory activities (e.g., accurate putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, waiting bin inventories).

Seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge and apply it to assist patients.

Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including traveling to other store locations as required.

Understand and comply with all federal, state and local laws and CVS policies for patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, recordkeeping, and patient privacy.

Deliver additional patient health care services (immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and staffing of offsite clinics) as allowed by law and required training.

Immunization Support (if applicable)

Obtain Technician Immunizer status by completing required licensure and training.

Educate patients about vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacy‑on‑duty.

Monitor and respond to adverse reactions; report events per public health requirements.

Review and collect patient information for vaccine records.

Manage and track vaccine supplies.

Required Qualifications

Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education and licensure/certification.

If no minimum age required, must be at least 16 years old.

If no minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent or be actively enrolled.

State‑level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.

Essential Functions

Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.

Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.

Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy.

Customer Service and Team Orientation: look for ways to help people, respond appropriately to patient reactions.

Communication Skills: understand verbal and written communication, use active listening.

Mathematical Reasoning: calculate medication doses, fill supplies.

Problem Resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.

Physical Demands: mobile, lift up to 20 lb, repetitive finger motions, precise machine operation.

Additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.

Preferred Qualifications

1–3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.

Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical or customer service settings.

Ability to work in the home store and travel to other store locations as needed.

Pay Range:

$16.00 – $27.00 per hour (base hourly rate for the job grade). Actual salary may vary based on experience, education, geography and other factors.
