Overview
Medical Office Specialist opportunity at MSO - Texas Bone & Joint, part of HCA Healthcare. The role focuses on providing clerical expertise to ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care. We are a collaborative team committed to patient care and are seeking a dedicated professional to join us.
Responsibilities
Work at the reception desk, answer phones, greet and communicate with patients and providers.
Schedule, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments.
Check in patients and document registration accurately.
Verify insurance and patient demographics.
File and retrieve medical records/files.
Copy and fax documents as needed.
Collect co-pays and cash from patients; obtain authorization on credit cards.
Enter charges, process payments, and balance the day in the computer.
Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Mission and Values statements; practice patient-centered care.
Perform other duties as required and read/adhere to all policy procedures.
For locations using Patient Centered Medical Home, coordinate continuity of care with external organizations and participate in data collection and program evaluation.
Qualifications
Experience: Less than one year required; one to three years preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of basic office equipment (copier, fax, computer).
Interpersonal skills and customer relations aptitude.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
