Overview
TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Syracuse, New York. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg; Discipline: RN; Duration: 16 weeks; 36 hours per week; Shift: 12 hours, nights; Employment Type: Travel. We are looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Syracuse, NY. The right RN should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience. Read below for more requirements.
Responsibilities
As a MedSurg RN, conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients\' immediate conditions or needs.
Perform ongoing assessments and administer treatments as ordered by a physician.
Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients\' families.
Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative patients.
Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
Prepare equipment and aid physicians during examinations and treatments.
Educate patients on surgical procedures and participate in discharge planning; initiate patient education plan as prescribed by the physician.
Stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty; be able to lift up to 20 pounds, with possible lifting of up to 50 pounds when moving or lifting patients.
Work in a fast-paced environment with patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
Requirements
ACLS, BLS; 3+ years of experience (or as specified by assignment).
Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
Pay and Location Pay package is based on 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax-free stipend amount to be determined. Location: Syracuse, New York.
