Senior Director, HRBP & Talent Development
Join Pagaya as the Senior Director, HRBP & Talent Development. You will serve as a trusted advisor and partner to our U.S. leadership team, reporting directly to the Global Head of People. The role is a high‑impact, hands‑on position responsible for driving the next phase of Pagaya’s people strategy across talent development, compensation, analytics, and business partnership.

The Role This Senior Director will shape the U.S. people agenda while serving as a critical connector to Pagaya’s global People team. The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with deep executional excellence, bringing a sophisticated understanding of how people strategy supports business growth in complex, regulated environments.
Responsibilities
Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders across the U.S., influencing decisions on organizational design, leadership development, workforce planning, and culture.
Partner with executive stakeholders to design and implement strategies that attract, retain, and grow top talent.
Serve as a sounding board and coach to leaders navigating scaling challenges and change management.
Lead enterprise-level talent and leadership development initiatives, including performance, succession, and capability‑building programs.
Partner with the Global Head of People to establish a cohesive, scalable talent framework that aligns with Pagaya’s long‑term strategy.
Champion a culture of accountability, continuous feedback, and growth across all levels of the organization.
Oversee U.S. compensation strategy and execution, including benchmarking, pay equity, and year‑end cycles.
Drive insights through data: build and interpret people analytics dashboards that inform executive decision‑making.
Partner cross‑functionally with Finance and global People teams to ensure alignment of compensation philosophy and talent metrics.
Serve as a key member of the People leadership team, contributing to global people strategy and operating model evolution.
Provide mentorship and guidance to HR Business Partners and cross‑functional peers, fostering an integrated, strategic HR approach.
Represent the People function in executive‑level discussions, influencing decisions through data, insight, and business acumen.
Qualifications
12+ years of progressive HR/People experience, including 5+ years leading strategic business partnership or center‑of‑excellence functions.
Proven success supporting senior executives in financial services, capital markets, hedge funds, top fintechs, management consulting, or other high‑growth environments.
Deep experience across org design, talent development, analytics, compensation, succession, and talent strategy with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Exceptional communication and executive presence; able to distill complexity into clarity for senior audiences.
Highly analytical and commercially minded, with a bias toward execution and impact.
Comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving organization with global stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Compensation Range (New York based hires) $240,000 – $260,000 USD annually.
