Company Mylar Law, P.C. is a firm that defends the civil rights of sheriffs, deputies, jail medical professionals, and others. The firm defends clients in bench and jury trials in the Utah Supreme Court, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, and occasionally the United States Supreme Court. It partners closely with Alliance Defending Freedom on religious freedom, parental rights, and discrimination issues. The practice also handles domestic, family, immigration, Christian reconciliation, and pro‑bono protective order cases.

Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Associate Attorney position located at Mylar Law, P.C. in Salt Lake City, Utah. Part‑time and tele‑commuting options will be considered on an individual basis. The candidate will draft motions, memoranda, and briefs, and practice general litigation before district courts and courts of appeal. Representation in religious freedom and parental rights cases, at times working with Alliance Defending Freedom, is required.

Qualifications

Proficiency in writing and researching legal memoranda.

Litigation experience preferred.

Strong legal research and experience with LEXIS or WestLaw.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Juris Doctor (JD) degree and Bar admission to at least one state, with ability to join the Utah State Bar soon.

Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Essential Functions

Assist in drafting pleadings, motions, and other court documents.

Craft legal arguments based on review and analysis of case law.

Represent clients in court hearings and depositions.

Assist the lead attorney in bench and jury trials.

Effectively communicate with clients and staff.

Review and proofread the work of paralegals to ensure accuracy and proper formatting.

Manage and prioritize calendars, workload, and deadlines for assigned cases.

Salary and Benefits Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000, depending upon experience.
