Nammo Composition Solutions, is an engineering and composite manufacturing company with more than 30 years of operations in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified professional individual to fill the role of Full-Time Quality Technician. The chosen candidate will be responsible for visual inspection and monitory in-house operations.

In this role you will also support Quality Engineering and participate as part of the continuous improvement philosophy. You must be able to effectively advise management of product conformance, capability issues and provide fact-based recommendations for improvement and problem resolution.

This position is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. Current shift available.

1st Shift 6AM- 4:30PM Monday-Thursday

Principle Responsibilities:

Reviews prescribed specifications and standards to detect errors

Identify non-conformances based on in-process and final product inspections in accordance with inspection plans

Assist quality engineering in planning and conducting first article inspections in accordance with AS9102

Support Quality Engineering in the review and of manufacturing/inspection documentation

Support quality and product engineers to resolve problem issues and improve quality

Work with supplier quality to facilitate corrective and preventive action relative to supplier quality problems found at incoming inspection

Recommend updates in inspection and test techniques to improve productivity/accuracy and eliminate inconsistencies through development of standards of acceptability

Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements (Education/Skills/Experience):

Quality Technician I:

High School Diploma or GED required

Basic understanding of dimensioning

Trained on the following basic skills, but may require supervision including:

Calipers, height gauges, OD/ID mics, Vernier scale, Romer Arm Usage, Optical Comparators, Pi Tapes

Can identify and accurately write up non-conformance reports with the QE guidance, when needed

Can perform program specific inspection plans with minimal supervision after training

Capable of utilizing Excel, Word, SmarTeam, Epicor, and Outlook per job requirements

Quality Technician II:

High School Diploma or GED required

5+ years’ relevant experience

A.S in mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or extensive Romer/Faro Arm CMM programing/Inspection a plus

Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Can utilize the following items without supervision, but may require assistance in troubleshooting:

Calipers, height gauges, OD/ID mics, Vernier scale, Romer Arm Usage, Optical Comparators, Pi Tapes

Can identify and accurately write up non-conformance reports

Can perform program specific inspection plans with no supervision

Capable of utilizing Excel, Word, SmarTeam, Epicor, and Outlook per job requirements

Able to train other Quality Technicians on a small number of skills and inspection plans

Quality Technician III:

High School Diploma or GED required

10+ years’ relevant experience

A.S in mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or extensive Romer/Faro Arm CMM programing/Inspection a plus

In depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Can utilize the following items without supervision, and perform trouble shooting tasks

Calipers, height gauges, OD/ID mics, Vernier scale, Romer Arm Usage, Optical Comparators, Pi Tapes

Can identify and accurately write up non-conformance reports

Can perform program specific inspection plans with no supervision, and do basic troubleshooting tasks, when needed, for issues that arise

Proficient in Excel, Word, SmarTeam, Epicor, and Outlook per job requirements

Able to train other Quality Technicians on a wide array of skills and inspection plans

Can fill in for various programs at a Tech III level
