This is a seasonal part-time coaching position beginning in October 2025 through standard end of season February 2026 and may be extended based on team advancement. Position Summary St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking an Assistant Boys’ Soccer Coach. This seasonal part-time position is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in growing the soccer team into a competitive program. Position is expected to coach sport within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity; Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The Assistant Boys’ Soccer Coach reports to the Athletic Director. This position is not benefits eligible. Job Duties Job Duty Name Description of Job Duties Assists the head coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport; Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by the head coach; Assesses players skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the head coach informed of the athletic performance of players; Assists with determining game strategy; Assists the head coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition; Attends all practices and games throughout the season; game attendance will require travel based on schedule; Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury; Models good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials and spectators; Follows rules and regulations of TAPPS guidelines; Participates in special activities to include senior night, athletic banquet, and pep rallies; Works with the head coach regarding eligibility, inventory, and other related paperwork; Attends staff meetings, clinics and other professional activities to improve coaching performance; Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge Skills and Abilities Possess effective coaching techniques and skills; Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of basketball; Strong communication skills with ability to remain professional and collected regardless of the circumstances with students, parents, staff, or opposing team; Ability to consistently follow the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents and students; Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Required Education High School Diploma or its equivalent. Required Work Experience Two (2) years of head/assistant boys’ soccer coaching experience at the high school level or above. Note that college playing experience may substitute for coaching experience; high school playing experience will be considered. Preferred Qualifications Experience as a player at the collegiate or professional level. Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
CPR certified or CPR certified within 15 days of hire. First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 15 days of hire. Work Hours Typical of assistant coach to include: Regular practice hours Mon-Fri after school (school days only) from 3:30-5:30pm. All games, both weekday and weekend mandatory. Special activity mandatory attendance based on schedule, to include senior night, athletic banquet, parents’ night, and pep rallies. Physical Demands
Ability to lift sports equipment weighing up to 50 lbs waist high. Ability to effectively move about to appropriately demonstrate plays and drills in this sport during practice, as well as sideline coach during games. Ability to actively engage in games and events for extended periods of time. Ability to regularly move about campus and event venues to actively engage faculty, staff, parents and students.
