Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Cardiac Sonographer - Woodhull. In this role, the successful candidate performs all types of Echocardiography testing, assists physicians in delivery of safe, age‑appropriate patient care during testing in the Echocardiography Lab, and works collaboratively with RN and MD colleagues. The sonographer also participates in performance improvement activities that impact patient outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Performs transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacologic) per department guidelines.

Captures digital cardiac images and performs accurate measurements, recognizing pathology and customizing exam, including contrast administration as needed.

Performs intra‑procedural transthoracic echocardiograms as ordered, including those for inpatients enrolled in IRB‑approved trials.

Conducts transthoracic echocardiograms in the Echo Lab or as portable bedside studies.

Responds to stat calls appropriately.

Reports life‑threatening pathology to attending physician or fellow.

Prepares echocardiogram procedure equipment, supplies, instruments, and paperwork.

Participates in orientation of new employees as needed.

Maintains daily quality control of equipment and escalates issues.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Technical diploma.

Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program.

Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by CCI or ARDMS at hire.

Current BLS certification.

Excellent written and oral communication, attention to detail, customer service, and multitasking skills.

Basic computer skills.

Experience with various manufacturer echo machines used in the Echo Lab.

Preferred Qualifications

1–2 years’ experience performing echocardiograms.

Salaries Salary range for the role is $58.40 – $58.97 hourly. Actual salaries depend on experience, education, and hospital need.
