Position Summary Performs multiple complex technology activities that support major information systems throughout NewYork-Presbyterian. Provides technical expertise for Information Services initiatives throughout NYP.

Essential Job Duties

Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to assigned system(s), and provides technical informational support to Information Services staff as well as end users. May provide consultation on projects and is considered to be a technical expert for assigned system(s).

Reviews, analyzes, and implements complex systems including development, testing, configuring and installation to support an organization's application systems and software applications.

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems and user needs. Documents requirements, defines scope and objectives, and formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies.

Works with end user groups to identify technical solutions to business problems or inefficiencies.

Provides technical training to appropriate staff.

Maintains current knowledge of field and keeps abreast of emerging technological advancements.

Acts as a “Trusted Advisor” and develops/executes solution strategies that support product growth and agility.

Serves as a visionary and strategist for solution product area, surveys market landscape, and identifies vendors and methods.

Provides expertise to translate system requirements into software design documentation.

Supports product delivery from concept inception to operational support with quality procedural management.

Reviews application or infrastructure projects to fit architecture and modifies solution architecture as needed.

Interfaces and coordinates tasks with internal and external technical resources, collaborating with Project Managers and technical directors for estimation and implementation.

Reviews, evaluates, designs, and maintains databases, constructs data flow diagrams, writes code for database access, and modifies stored procedures.

May design/implement/manage web and mobile technologies solutions.

May lead the development and implementation of evolving mobile strategies and architectures.

Follows change management procedures and monitors production support.

Provides support center assistance to troubleshoot and resolve system/database issues, including non‑working hours.

Provides weekly status reports on project status, issue tracking, project risks, and mitigation strategies.

Badge Integration Project Responsibilities

Lead expert on all matters related to ID badge systems and integration with enterprise systems.

Design and implement secure ID badge issuance workflows, including user onboarding/offboarding.

Integrate ID badges with access control systems (e.g., Lenel, HID, Genetec), HR systems, and identity directories.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (IT, Security, HR, Facilities) to understand integration needs and ensure end‑to‑end solutions.

Ensure compliance with physical and logical security policies and regulations.

Provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and performance issues related to badge systems.

Assist in vendor evaluation and selection of badge printers, readers, and related technologies.

Document system configurations, integration flows, and standard operating procedures.

Train support staff and end‑users as necessary.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related discipline or related work experience.

6‑8 years of related work experience.

Ability to work within a team environment.

Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Strong communication, collaboration and documentation skills.

Strong initiative and organization skills.

Strong customer service skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Major in Computer Science or related discipline.

Certification in specific applications may be required.

Experience in secure credential management and public key infrastructure (PKI).

Background in high‑security environments (e.g., government, healthcare, data centers).

Proven experience (5+ years) in ID badge system implementation and integration.

Strong knowledge of physical access control systems and identity lifecycle management.

Strong understanding of badge technologies (RFID, smart cards, NFC, QR codes).

Experience with directory services (LDAP, Active Directory, Azure AD).

Experience integrating with HRIS and ticketing systems (Workday, ServiceNow).

Familiarity with security compliance standards (HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, NIST).

Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.

Salary Range $126,000-$199,000/Annual

Location and Travel On‑site presence required. All employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. NYP will not reimburse travel expenses.
