The Role
As the lead technical BESS expert, you will play a key role in delivering the company’s first generation of utility‑scale battery storage projects.
You’ll lead cross‑functional teams — from engineering to construction — ensuring that every project is designed, integrated, and delivered to the highest technical and safety standards.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and strategy, and offers the chance to shape how energy storage is delivered within one of Europe’s fastest‑growing clean energy businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end technical project management for the construction of utility‑scale BESS projects.
Coordinate with engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, software) to define system architecture and integrate battery modules, BMS, EMS, inverters, and enclosures.
Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk assessments.
Oversee grid connection processes in accordance with TAB and VDE‑4120.
Ensure compliance with safety and certification standards (UL 9540, UL 1973, IEC 62933, NFPA 855, etc.).
Supervise prototyping, testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
Oversee site activities in line with German construction law, environmental, and HSE requirements.
Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
Collaborate with procurement and supply chain on technical specifications and delivery schedules.
Drive design reviews, technical decision‑making, and change management processes.
Monitor project KPIs, performance, and customer satisfaction post‑commissioning.
About You We’re looking for someone with both strong technical expertise and solid project delivery experience in the energy storage or renewables sector.
You’ll be motivated by building systems that work in the real world — and by leading projects that genuinely move the energy transition forward.
You’ll bring:
Degree in electrical, mechanical, energy, or industrial engineering (or equivalent).
Proven experience in energy storage, renewable generation, or grid‑connected infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of battery systems, inverters, grid integration, and control systems.
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Solid project management capability — balancing technical detail, cost, and schedule.
Fluent English; German language skills are a strong advantage.
